Our two patient support training workshops, taking place this September, will focus on practical skills which can be used by all clinic staff to improve the support offered to patients.
Each workshop will include interactive sessions on breaking bad news and customer service skills from an experienced BICA accredited fertility counsellor. You’ll also hear from a senior HFEA inspector on what they look for when inspecting against patient support.
The patient support training workshops will take place on:
- Tuesday 10 September in London (Church House, Westminster, SW1P 3NZ)
and - Thursday 19 September in Manchester (etc.venues, 11 Portland Street, M1 3HU)
Both workshops will run from 10am-4pm and will cover the same content, so please only register for the location most convenient to you.
We welcome staff from any clinic role or level to register, and particularly encourage those who are not trained in counselling, or who are less confident in providing emotional support, to attend.
Numbers for each of the days are limited so please register your interest as early as possible (please note that you are not guaranteed a space at this stage).
Registration will close on Friday 2 August, and delegates will be notified if they have secured a place by Monday 12 August. Confirmed attendees will receive further details of the workshop sessions and speakers at this time.
To register your interest please send the following information to ebony.bell@hfea.gov.uk
- which training date you’d like to attend
- your name and job title
- the name of your clinic
We look forward to you joining us for a practical, informative day to help us all better support patients.
