The new data submission system (PRISM) will be a big improvement on the current system, easier to use and it will be possible for errors to be identified before data is submitted. We’ll be able to make use of our new Register with better structured data to support patient decision making, clinic performance improvements and research.
PRISM
Development of the PRISM data submission system is almost complete, but before we can launch the new system we need to migrate data from the old register into the new one. The majority of data has migrated successfully but we have discovered a data linkage issue affecting a small proportion of the data. We’re working with a specialist data migration company and the associated data migration work will take six months to complete. The full PRISM launch will therefore take place in December 2019.
In the meantime, we will be releasing a pre-release of the PRISM system and this will take place in August 2019. The pre-release cannot be used for current patient data although it can be used for familiarisation and we look forward to feedback from clinics.
Choose a Fertility Clinic statistics published on our website
Clinic statistics on the Choose a Fertility Clinic (CaFC) section of our website have not been updated in over two years while we completed the introduction of PRISM and new Register. We are keen to rectify this, and we’ll be updating information over the summer to allow CaFC to be updated in October, and more frequently thereafter. This requires a one time exercise of data validation by clinics. The Register team will work closely with clinics over the summer to support this.
In summary:
- PRISM pre-release launched to the sector in August 2019
- CaFC data validation during the summer with the statistics updated in October 2019
- PRISM full launch December 2019
