In January’s edition of Clinic Focus, we let you know you that we will be restarting the project to implement two new EU Directives and that we would keep you updated on progress. We’d like to inform you that the Department of Health-led consultation on the Directives is now open, and encourage you to respond.
The two EU Directives involve applying a Single European Code (SEC) to all tissues and cells being transported within the EU, and the requirements for the import of eggs, sperm and embryos into the EU. The consultation gives you the opportunity to voice how they will affect your clinic and the suggested approaches. To help outline what the two Directives require, please read the attached overview document.
