Clinics are required to possess a Home Office licence if they wish to produce, supply, possess, import or export controlled drugs.
A fertility centre recently noticed that their licence had lapsed and they were not covered. This meant that controlled drugs could not be stored on the premises or supplied to patients.
The renewal application is an online application and can take up to 16 weeks to be processed. Please ensure that your Home Office licence is in date and that you have systems in place to remind you when renewal is due.
