High quality research and clinical innovation are central to providing a modern fertility service. They are also at the heart of our strategy to ensure high quality care for everyone affected by fertility treatment.
We want to ensure that patients who would like to take part in embryo research can do. We also want new techniques and treatments which are safe and effective.
With this in mind, we are running a workshop to discuss both responsible innovation, particularly around treatment add ons, and increasing the opportunities for patients to donate embryos to research.
Date: 10.00am until 4.00pm
Tuesday 21 November 2017
Location: Church House, Great Smith Street, London SW1P 3NZ.
The day will be split into two sessions:
Treatment add ons
This session will provide an opportunity to discuss innovation in the sector and how clinics can responsibly introduce new techniques into clinical practice. We would also like to hear your views on draft changes to our Code of Practice guidance relating to the information to provide to patients.
Embryo research
We want to encourage collaboration between researchers and clinics to help facilitate patients donating their embryos to research. In this session, researchers will ‘pitch’ their projects to clinics who will then have the opportunity to collaborate with them.
All clinic staff are welcome to join us for this event so please share this invitation with any colleagues who may be interested. If demand for places is high, we may limit the number of attendees from each clinic.
